Muscle strains or pulled muscles are very common. They happen when we overstretch or tear a muscle.
Strains can happen in any part of the body but they are most common in the neck, back and legs. Athletes and gym goers often can get them in their arms too.
A person will normally feel a strain the moment it happens and the symptoms can include:
- Sudden pain
- Bruising or swelling
- Pain on using that muscle
- Feeling of tightness or weakness
- Knotted up feeling
The most important thing to do is follow RICER: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation and then Rehab
